AMY (OBERAIGNER) JUERS

Position: President
Term Ending: 2026
Biography: Amy is the daughter of Jim and Aileen Oberaigner and part of the 3rd generation of OB’s on Des Moines Lake. She grew up spending most summer weekends at the lake. One of her best memories was from a long, long time ago when she went fishing with her dad and he caught a 26 pound Muskie from an “undisclosed location” on the lake. One of her favorite events of the year is the 4th of July boat parade and LaRock’s fireworks. Amy’s goal as the president of the lake association is to work closely with the board and volunteers on initiatives that will keep Des Moines Lake a special place where great memories can continue to be made by everyone.

MIKE SCHAFHAUSER

Position: Treasurer
Term Ending: 2025
Biography: On the north northeast end of the lake, known to our family as a Schafhauser Shores, with Pat and Angie Schafhauser and Tom and Alison Rooney. Alison’s grandparents, my mom and dad, built their place. My family has been property owners on the lake since the mid 60s. We’ve owned ours since 1982. We live in Woodbury.

RYAN KNOX

Position: Secretary, Vice President, Technology Lead
Term Ending: 2025/2026
Biography: Ryan has been coming up to Des Moines Lake since 2009. He and his wife bought their cabin in 2013. They love spending their summer with their young children, Nora who is 7 and Tommy who is 5, every weekend here on Des Moines Lake. His pontoon music may be a little loud sometimes because Nora loves to sing and dance.

MICHELLE SCHOEDER

Position: Director
Term Ending: 2026
Biography: In 2018, my husband and I bought our cozy cabin, affectionately known as “The Cherry Pit.” Summers at the cabin are all about making amazing memories with family and friends. From nights by the fire and time on the water, to epic 4th of July celebrations and exploring nature, every moment at the cabin is a blast! When fall and winter roll around, I love traveling and hiking, working my way through my list of national parks. So far, I’ve explored 30 parks, and I’m excited to visit more in the future.

HOLLY HUSO

Position: Director
Term Ending: 2026
Biography: Purchased a Des Moines Lake cabin in 2017, and became a year around resident in 2020. 15+ year Healthcare Sales Executive, with previous career stops in Collegiate Basketball Coaching and School District Athletics Administration in NC, IA, WI, and MN. Currently, Enterprise Sales Officer for Akumin, Inc. Favorite lake time activities are boating, fishing and simply enjoying the fun of the lake with friends and family. The winter time is especially beautiful and peaceful at the lake as well! Interests include: Biking, walking, running, camping, rat rods, and enjoying the outdoors with an ice cold refreshment!

TOM ROONEY

Position: Director
Term Ending: 2026
Biography: I have been spending most summers on Lake Des Moines for 19 years. My wife Alison (formerly Schafhauser) and I have 3 boys, 11, 8 and 5. After many years staying at Alison’s family cabin, we purchased our own cabin in 2020. We have since spent our summers updating the cabin and enjoying all that the lake has to offer. I hope to help the board in any way possible and will always fall back on the “logical” thing to do.

MIKE KELLAR

Position: Director
Term Ending: 2026
Biography: Third generation cabin owner on Des Moines located on the North end of the lake. My family has owned the cabin since the 50’s. I also have family on other areas of the lake and on Long Lake. My grandparents built the cabin and Grandma is still alive but stays in Arizona permanently at the age of 97. We come to the cabin all the time and year round. My hobbies include fishing, hunting, and I belong to the local ATV and snowmobile clubs where we help maintain the trails. You might recognize my name if you belong to our lakes facebook page because I am one of the administrators and post frequently.

SUE SJEKLOCHA

Position: Past President
Biography: I have been coming to this beautiful lake with my family since the 1960’s. Our family bought our 100-year cabin in 1969-1970.
